Outlook Express Guide

It is critical that you keep your computer up to date with updates and patches released by Microsoft.  Our biggest number of Helpdesk calls are due to out of date Outlook Express installations.  Update your computer here via Microsoft website.

1. Select the Tools menu

2. Select Accounts

3. Select the Mail Tab
Select your Account from the list and click Properties

In this example, you can replace 'CyberQ' with any descriptive name you wish to use. This is helpful if you have multiple accounts configured.
  • Type in your name in the Name field - this is the Name which will display on your emails
  • If you wish, type the name of your Company in the Organization field
  • Specify your email address in the E-mail address field. Most customers should use yourname@cyberq.net.au (where yourname = your Login ID prefix). This is the email address which will appear on your emails. Domain Name customers, this should read yourname@yourdomain.com.au
  • Ensure the last Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing box is ticked.

4. Select the 'Servers' tab

'My incoming mail server is a' option must show POP3
All settings on this tab should mirror those on the above image with the exception of your Account Name which must match your full email address.

5. Click Apply and then OK.

6. Close Outlook Express and reopen.

Our Helpdesk will gladly assist you with this process.
